Quite some MTB guides have already been published as
CD-ROMs, like this one. There are some advantages,
like editing the trails by yourself, printing just the
ones you need, etc. But on the other hand it would be
nice to have at least a tiny overview booklet accompanying
the CD.
The guide covers the most eastern part of the Swiss Alps
called Graubunden, which is known for its marvelous
views and high altitude valleys (2000-2500 m). The
terrain is covered with singletracks and other dusty
tracks, so the tours described are really nice to ride.
The Bike-Explorer CD is well made, set up in HTML,
like a website and you won't have any problems using it,
since it is simple and efficient. You can sort the list
of tours by the area or difficulty. Each tour has got
photos, with exact information, where the photos were
taken. There are also some virtual tours that you can
take. Then you can visit the Down Hill Parks of
Graubunden, get
tourist information and lots more. In any case, this is
an interesting and useful guide. You can get more info
about this guide and other ones from the same author on-line:
www.bike-explorer.ch.
It is in German.
