5. Front suspension types regarding the operation
Elastomer:
- elastomer rubber works as a spring for rebound and
also for damping
- are less expensive and work satisfactorily only in
summer, since elastomer rubber becomes stiff at
lower temperatures
Coil/oil:
- coiled steel springs for rebound and oil for
damping
- work best of all and are the heaviest
Air/oil:
- air chambers for rebound and oil for damping
- don't work as well as the coil type, but are much
lighter
