Pinzgauer Grassberge

Most of European ski resorts offer some kind of mountain biking in the summer. They usually have marked trails, maps and some of them special DH tracks as well. 

Pinzgau area (close to Zell am See, Kaprun) is quite interesting for MTB enthusiasts, since the landscape and terrain is very suitable for off-road riding. The mountains are covered with grass and therefore the trails offer magnificent views. 

The photos here on these pages are all from the trail to Schattberg Westgipfel (2095 m) above Salbach - Hinterglemm, Pinzgau area. The trail is marked especially for mountain bikes and it is a part of 720 km long network of marked biking trails of the area. The trail to Schattberg goes along the signs 20B - 20J - 20K - 20D and it is relatively short (approx. 25 km) and quite steep (1100 m of height difference). 

You can also get a book guide "RAD&BIKE Pinzgau" with nice maps and basic trail information. It is available free of charge at local tourist offices.
