This is a bible for all serious mountain bikers that
want to taste more demanding Slovenian off-road terrain.
The title ("Steep tracks") says it all.
The whole Slovenia is covered in the book, with
emphasis on the Alps and its broader area. The trails
were chosen according to the total ascent - the bigger
the better. So there are unfortunately quite some trails
with long asphalt ascents.
This book is not really a book, since it is bonded in
a folder with pages ready to take out with you on a
ride. Each trail is usually presented with a single
sheet of paper with trail description and data,
including a black&white topo map on the back. So, if you don't understand
Slovenian, you can use this book as well.
The trail descriptions have got all necessary
information but the type of tracks. So, you usually
don't know whether the long ascent will be on asphalt or
on macadam road.
